Dining & Entertainment : Dining - Vail
Our restaurant features some of the best BBQ around the world. We learned from a pro. Our brother-in-law, Duane Felker – owner of Carson City BBQ out of Carson City NV, has lent us his fantastic recipes and style of delicious back country BBQ. His business has been featured on the food network and his sauce has won hundreds of awards. Duane has branched out to Colorado and we now present Piney River BBQ. We feature a secret sauce made fresh in our kitchen, home-made baked bean, and you gotta try our pulled pork! Season - Memorial Weekend to Labor Day Weekend. Open from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. Other times available for groups. Piney River is private property but the road leading to us is White River National Forest. USFS controls the road to our gate. We are not open for lunch in winter.

Recreational Activities : Horseback Riding
Your wilderness experience awaits at Piney River Ranch. A beautiful drive on a dirt road through the wilderness takes you right to the Piney Lake, where your family can spend the day doing horseback riding, canoeing, eating lunch, hiking, and resting in the peacefulness. Look for the local moose near the lake! The trail rides offer a chance to explore the surrounding aspen meadows and picture-perfect views of the Gore Range which tower over the lake.

Adventures snowmobiling is some of the finest in Colorado. Piney offers close proximity to Vail and Beaver Creek and host spectacular scenery of the Gore Mountain Range, Piney Lake, and unrivaled views of Eagle Valley including Mt of the Holy Cross. When you arrive at Piney River Ranch you are welcomed by a warm roaring fire, hot beverage, and fantastic picture opportunities. If you are with us for our lunch tour you get to stay in this winter wonder land just that much longer and enjoy some of the best BBQ around. When it is time to leave the ranch your adventure does not end there. Your group will detour up Red & White Mountain trail and get you a taste of real Colorado powder.
