Soul Festival at Vail
Vail chosen as the top choice to host the first annual event of “The Colorado Soul Festival” (CSF). CSF is committed to being the premier soul music destination festival. Enjoy live performances by some of the greatest Rhythm & Blues (R&B), conscious Hip Hop, alternative Rock, Blues & Neo Soul artists from around the world. The mission of CSF is to celebrate soul music with top musicians, empowerment seminars, workshops and cultural activities. The Festival estimates 2500 attendees over the three-day event from 9am - 9pm August 20-22, 2010.
“We want our attendees to experience all that Vail has to offer from fine dining, shopping and outdoor adventure activities,” Jackson says. Nearly half of the festival goers will come from the Front Range. CSF organizers are committed to putting filling beds during Vail’s summer season.Legacy Entertainment is not a stranger to Vail. The firm produced an annual women’s retreat for three consecutive years at the Vail Cascade Resort and Spa. The national retreat held over Labor Day, attracted attendees from across the country. For the past three years, Legacy Entertainment, Inc. has partnered with Central City Productions, Inc. to produce televised music events such as the Stellar Gospel Music Awards and Gospel Music Festival.
CSF will look to host events in venues such as the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater and other neighboring establishments. “We are confident that CSF will have a substantial economic impact on Vail,” Jackson says. Local businesses and merchants will have an opportunity to exhibit at the festival and partner with CSF to host its after-parties. “Vail is a leader in both hospitality and service. We look forward to securing our host hotel over the next couple of months and working with local venues such as the Samana Lounge and the Red Lion,” she says.
The Festival’s creative partner is Denver communications firm, Argyle, Paisley and Polka Dots, Inc. (A.P.P.D). John Chapman, director of communication, describes soul as “the principle of life, thought and action” and believes that the Festival will bring an unparalleled experience to attendees for years to come. A.P.P.D. will build an integrated marketing communication plan consisting of social media, grassroots outreach, marketing and public relations. CSF will ensure that youth have access to the festival through partnerships with local and national nonprofit organizations.
