Opening day celebration in Vail

Published by Debbie at 12:29 am under Activities, Around Town, Events, News, Recreation

Join Vail Snow Daze, skiing and mountain sports from December 7th though 13 as Vail celebrates its opening days for the 2009-2010 winter season. Enjoy Vail’s biggest early season party in North America, with on-mountain bands, contests, rail jam, and nightly entertainment around town. So kick-off the ski season with an action-packed week at Vail Snow Daze. Historically, Vail Snow Daze marks the opening of the mountain including the seven legendary back bowls and Blue Sky Basin (weather and snow dependent), which is an event not to be missed in itself.

Events throughout the week include:

- All-mountain camera phone photography and film contest;
- Snowball-eating contest;
- Free ski and snowboard demos and Expo village;
- Snuggie Pub Crawl;
- “Beat the Olympian” Ski Race; and
- Dummy Demolition Derby under the lights.

FREE concerts featuring Robert Randolph and the Family Band. The headliner band is the Barenaked Ladies.

Mark your calendar for Vail Snow Daze today, and plan your trip with discounted lodging and lift ticket packages through Vail Beaver Creek Central Reservations.

Amazing skiing + parties and FREE concerts + killer deals…You can see why Vail is the place to be this December and on through the ski season.
