Vail - Beaver Creek Mountain Bike Series

Published by david at 12:29 pm under Recreation

Once again the Vail Recreation District is hosting their Mountain Bike Race Series. 2009’s series promises to be a really exciting one for recreational mountain bike racers. The local community has come out yet again in full support and sponsorship, Vail Resort and Beaver Creek Resort both back as Title Sponsors. Also amongst the sponsors are 1st Bank, Rocky Mountain Bicycles, and Bud Light. Vail Valley and the competitors very much appreciate their contributions!

This year’s six race days are to be run as follows: the Four Eagle Ranch in Wolcott on May 27th, the Eagle Classic at Eagle Ranch in Eagle on June 10th, the Berry Creek Bash at Berry Creek Forest Service Road in Edwards on June17, the Vail Grind at the Gold Peak Base area in Vail on July 8th, Davos Dash, at the West Vail Holiday Inn parking lot in Vail on July 22nd, and the Beaver Creek Blast, at the base of the Centennial chair lift at Beaver Creek on August 5th, all in 2009. Little League series races begin at 5 pm each race day, while the Adult series races begin at 5:45 pm. Registration starts at 4 pm, and all must be completed by 5 pm.

The Recreation District would like to advise that all riders have fun and race within their abilities.. Team Rosters and Entry Forms are to be turned in before May 23rd or pay a $75 late fee for team and rider. There are 14 classes(or divisions) all told, including Beginners, Sport, Expert, Masters, Pro and Veteran, and and Single-Speed, for men and women of all ages, and Juniors for boys’ and girls’ ages 15-18.

This annual mountain bike race series has always proven to be a lot of fun for participants and observers alike. Many of the racers contribute a day of their time on the trails, maintaining them as well as surveying the terrain, ensuring that they contribute to the sport as well. Come on down, either as a competitor or just to watch the fun!
