Once again in 2009, Vail, Colorado hosts the International Dance Festival. Beginning on Monday, July 27, 2009 at 6:30 pm at the Ford Amplitheater, attendees will be entertained by the talents of the incomparable Savion Glover, with guests Bare Soundz and Otherz. The next day, you can get up close and personal with the world’s most renown tap dancer, Savion Glover, at the Vail Performing Arts Center (VPAC) in Beaver Creek. On Saturday, August 1, at 7:30 pm, the Ford Amplitheater is the venue for the incomparable Miami City Ballet, a world-class group. On Sunday the 2nd, the Festival kicks off with a Highlights Spectacular at the Ford Amplitheater. On the 3rd, the VPAC in Beaver Creek provides another UpClose opportunity, this time with Edward Villella of the Miami City Ballet. Mr. Villella’s performances have thrilled the world’s audiences. This UpClose is certain to be a rare treat!

Tuesday, August 4th, 2009, brings us discounts: Dance for $20.09 (or only $9 per person on the lawn.) The performances are a well-rounded presentation certain to please every taste. Wednesday is scheduled to be Dark, with the Festival returning on Thursday at 6:30 pm with an UpClose: Wendy Whalen, Dancer and Muse. This incredibly talented lady has inspired several roles to be written for her. The UpClose opportunity at the VPAC is not to be missed. Friday features Morphose at 7:30 at the Ford. The rest of the weekend, presents International Evenings of Dance (1 and 2) at the Ford, starting at 7:30. Ballroom’s Best entertains us on Monday, August 10th at 7:30, and finally we’re offered Bud Light’s very creative Hot Summer Nights of Dance on the the 11th at 6:30 pm at the Ford Amplitheater.
