Bravo! Dallas Orchestra Vail

There may be no finer place in the world to listen to orchestras than Vail’s Rocky Mountains, and no finer venue than the Gerald R. Ford Amplitheater, which is the location of the 22nd annual season of the Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival. The clean, crisp, clear mountain air seems to work magic on the music, and the backdrop of the mountains themselves is simply hard to beat!

The line-up for this summer’s festivities includes the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, the Philadelphia Orchestra, and the New York Philharmonic! Guests will enjoy chamber music, jazz and pop tunes as well. This marks the Dallas Symphony Orchestra’s 109th season, which will be enjoyed in Vail beginning on July 1, 2009, with performances throughout the coming week on the July 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 8th.

The Amphitheater Subscription Series provides a 10% discount for those who purchase regular or premium reserved seats for all classical performances. There are four other subscriptions available: The Bravo Lawn Pass (Club Bravo) is just $135 until June 1, 2009, and $169 thereafter, The transferable Gold card for $399, , Bach on the Rocks (phone 970-827-4304 for details on this young professionals’ group,) and the Student Lawn Pass ($45, with student ID).

The festival runs six weeks, from July 1st through August 4th, 2009, and offers the best classical musicians in the world! Highlights include Jaap van Zweden conducting the Dallas Symphony, cellist Alisa Weilerstein, violinist Gil Shaham, pianists Yuja Wang, Garick Ohlsson and Orli Shaham, and many other delightful performers. Bring your own picnic basket of cheese, wine and a blanket to enjoy the concert series on the lawn, or purchase reserved, covered seating. Either way, the festival is an experience no one will want to miss! Visit www.vailmusicfestival.org for more details or to purchase your tickets!
