17th Annual Trick or Treat Trot October 31 in Vail & Lionshead Village

The Vail Recreation District’s (VRD) 17th Annual Trick or Treat Trot will take place tomorrow (10-31), rain or shine, in Vail and LionsHead Villages. Ghosts, goblins, fairies, princesses and superheroes ages infant through 10 years old and their families are invited to participate in the annual Halloween activity, which will begin at 1 p.m. at the Vail Public Library featuring a Halloween Story Hour. Then from 2 to 5 p.m. children and their families can gather and march through the streets of Vail and LionsHead. Merchants that display an oversized jack-o-lantern bag at their entrance will be offering safe treats for the children.

A costume contest also will take place during the festivities with participating merchants voting for the best costumes. Categories include family, individual or group. Information on the contest will be available tomorrow at the information booths that will be set up at the LionsHead bus stop and near the Covered Bridge in Vail Village.

The Trick or Treat Trot is organized by VRD Youth Services and sponsored by the Vail Daily, Pazzo’s and Wishes. For more information on the Halloween festivities, call VRD Youth Services Department at (970) 479-2292.
